The quantity of fresh water in our earth has been rapidly decreasing. People do not value the need of river water. This carelessness devastated Indian river waters. Many think that it is the duty of government to clean the rivers. But a man from Uttar Pradesh is standing as an role model to every common people.
Ramveer Tanwar, an Engineer in an MNC has been reviving the lakes of Uttar Pradesh since 2014. He took this initiative because during his small age, he used to play in rivers. But now he finds no lakes also no clean rivers. So he started cleaning a river in a village. Before starting his work he explained people about the importance of water conservation.
Later in some years he made the government to turn his side. The Uttar Pradesh government has made groups called “Bhujal Sena” and Ramveer has been appointed as the coordinator for his district. It covers 50 villages under the process. Vikrant Tongad an environtmentalist was Ramveer’s inspiration.
When Ramveer was in college he started “Jal Choupal” a gathering of villagers. Through which he interacted with people to create awareness among them. Because he knows that people are wasting the water life because of ignorance. He stated he will help cleaning the river again and again but he requested that it is the commoners duty to keep the river clean. Especially he mentioned fishermen to help maintaining the cleanliness.
Ramveer observed the main pollution is the plastic wastes. IT dumps and stops the underground water recharging. So he planned to clear out the plastic mess. He devised a double filtration system by constructing a mesh of wooden planks. It would stop the bigger wastes of plastic and let the water alone run by filtering.
The water bodies which was once an attraction and also a source of living has changed into a dumping ground nowadays. This moved Ramveer to do something to save his natural source of living. As many reports says that India is running out of water. People and government should initiate their moves to save their basic livelihood. A beautiful environment leads to a beautiful world.
